Why did you choose hairdressing?
It somehow happened organically. Cut a friend’s hair when I was 15 (possibly the worst haircut in the world), but he seemed to like it and before I l knew it I was cutting a few people’s hair. Was going to study but then in my gap year I helped at a salon at the waterfront on weekends. Well, the rest is history, here I am 29 years in and still at it.
What are some of the biggest things/people you’ve worked on and what would you say are some of your greatest achievements?
Raising my 4 kids. That has to be an achievement right?
On a more serious note, I worked on many international and local stars, celebrities, TV personalities and many influencers, namely, Kate Moss, J-Lo and Daniel Pascal when they in Cape Town for launches. Michelle McLean, Lee-Ann Liebenberg and Amy Kleinhans to name a few.
What is your favourite service you offer?
Colour and cuts. I was trained by a meticulous hairstylist that took nearly 2 hours just to cut his clients hair.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
Oh Wow, I LOVE MY HAIR. It always gets me:)
What is your favourite era?
60’s. Who else doesn’t love the 60’s. What an amazing time that would have been to be a part of.
If you can choose to have dinner with anyone that has inspired you, (anyone from your mom/dad to Mandela or mother Teresa), who would that be?

I love being part of this amazing industry. I love fashion and new trends. I’m easy going, (at work), ‘don’t tell my husband’, haha. I feel blessed to have built amazing relationships with my clients over there years, some of which has become friends.

Why did you choose hairdressing?
Took a gap year after matric and started working in a salon for pocket money to get me through that year. I immediately fell in love with the industry. I went on to study for 3 years and qualified as a hairstylist. This is my industry. Seems like it was my calling and would love to continue doing it as long as I can.
What are some of the biggest things/people you’ve worked on and what would you say are some of your greatest achievements?
I’ve been priveledged enough to have worked at some amazing salons over the years that has molded me into the stylist I am today. I’ve work on numerous Cape Town Fashion Weeks and worked on TV personalties, celebrities and many influencers.
What is your favourite service you offer?
I don’t particularly have a favourite, I enjoy all of them.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
The freedom to express my creativity. The relationships I’ve built with my clients. That feeling when your client is in your chair and you’ve just made her look like a million $… their faces are priceless.. Love that!
What is your favourite era?
Definitely the 80’s…

Hello! Born and bred Cape Town girl. I’m always down for some fun and giggles.
Don’t fret if you initially see me and I seem ‘oh so serious’, That’s just my face, haha.
I am always looking to improve my skills. I am a strong believer in on going education. It’s the key to staying up to date with new trends.

How long have you been in the industry?
I studied full time for 3 years at college of Cape Town. Thereafter, I completed a 1 year apprenticeship and I’ve been a been a qualified stylist for the past 5 years.
Why did you choose hairdressing?
I love interacting with people. With hairdressing, i can engage and build relationships with my clients as well as be creative.
I always feel that clients leave my chair with a spring in their step (who doesn’t like a good hairdo, right?). It’s absolutely rewarding to witness this in all its splendor! As a female stylist, I find the most credence with my gents cuts and something that I am uber proud of.
Always up for a good challenge!
What are some of the biggest things/people you’ve worked on and what would you say are some of your greatest achievements?
My fondest hair memory is of doing free hand balayage. With that being said, I learnt it from the Guru herself, Sophia Hilton * screams *
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
My hair journey is not even remotely close to completion. There are so many things that I would love to learn. Hairdressing is endless education and I will be continuing on this journey.

I love our current era, lots of the styles are back in fashion. So it’s fresh & at the same time nostalgic.

That’s a difficult question for me, so many iconic people. I would need a big dinner party to have all of them.

The hottest person in the world is definitely my BF but after him I’d place David Beckham , & J.LO being top woman.
What do you do in your spare time and what hobbies do you have?
I love the outdoors! May it be the beach, the mountain or a wine farm. In a pre-covid world I’d be spending time with my family , visiting our holiday home in Struisbaai.

My biggest personal achievement is having my little girl.
